Empowering Magick with Astrology

Empowering Magick with Astrology

OKAY, y’all, let’s get into it! I’ve been clutching onto “The Modern Witchcraft Book of Astrology” by Julia Halina Hadas for almost a year now—since about last January, I think? Here’s the tea: I was a bit hesitant to jot down my thoughts on this gem. Why, you ask? Well, I absolutely ADORE the author! And honestly, I’m kind of a picky, bougie connoisseur when it comes to astrological content. I was worried that my deep love for the author, mixed with my passion for astrology (you know, my flavor is Hellenistic/Traditional), might make me a bit biased.

But here’s the growth moment, folks! I’ve reached a point where I can appreciate and honor a tradition of astrology that, while not exactly my cup of tea, is definitely empowering magick with astrology for many out there. And that’s totally cool. So, here I am, ready to spill all about this book that, despite not being tailored for the traditional astrology buffs like me, turned out to be a genuinely captivating read. Let’s dive in, shall we?

Before We Dive In: Aesthetic Witchy Vibes

Alright, lovelies, before we jump into the deep end, can we just take a moment to appreciate how darn aesthetically pleasing this book is? I mean, the feel, the font, the layout – it’s like a little party for your soul! And now, drumroll please… let’s dive into the nitty-gritty of how Julia Halina Hadas is totally rocking our worlds by empowering magick with astrology. Ready or not, here we go! JUMP!

Astrology Unpacked

So, this treasure is split into two juicy parts. Part 1 is all about getting cozy with understanding astrology. Chapter 1 starts us off with a gentle intro, touching on astrology’s connection with religion and culture, plus a bit of a history lesson. Now, if you’re a hardcore history buff, you might want to check out Chris Brennan’s stuff for a deeper dive, but hey, back to our main star here.

Moving on to Chapter 2, we’re exploring astrological elements, and let me tell you, Julia nails it! She dishes out digestible chunks of info on modalities, elements, and their associated celestial buddies. This is modern astrology at its finest, folks – no info overload here, just empowering magick with astrology in the most accessible way.

Sign, Sign, Everywhere a Sign

Chapter 3 gets us up close and personal with the zodiac signs. The layout? Adorbs! Each sign, like Aries, gets its own spotlight, complete with glyphs, seasons, and associated celestial bodies. Then we delve into themes, myths, and magick. I’m living for the myth section because it’s like getting a backstage pass to why each sign ticks the way it does. So enlightening!

Houses and Planets Galore

Chapter 4 is all about the astrological houses – a personal fave topic of mine. Julia brings the houses to life, infusing them with personality by linking them with signs and elements. It’s like understanding the ‘why’ behind the ‘what,’ and it’s pretty darn empowering.

Chapter 5? Oh, it’s a cosmic party! Planets, dwarf planets, asteroids – it’s all here. We’re talking moon phases, retrogrades, and the whole celestial shebang. It’s just… chef’s kiss!

The Cosmic Finale

Now, brace yourselves for Chapter 6, the grand finale where cosmic witchcraft essentials take the stage. Julia’s got this nifty section on interstellar ingredients and their planetary ties – super helpful for all your spellcasting adventures. She chats about crystals, chakras, and even gives a nod to the astrological wheel of the year. I just wish she’d dived a bit deeper into the astrological connections with the crystals. Missed opportunity? Maybe. But still, it’s a goldmine of knowledge.

Spellcasting Season Heaven

And then, bam! We hit Part 2, and it’s like walking into an astrological spell buffet. Every season gets its own set of spells and formulas. It’s the epitome of empowering magick with astrology, and it’s so deliciously detailed!

Empowering Magick with Astrology: My Final Witchy Thoughts

Julia Halina Hadas? She’s done a phenomenal job. This book is packed with enough astro-witchy wisdom to keep you from feeling overstimmied (that’s over-stimulated, in case you’re wondering). Her writing style? Authentic and totally flowing. It’s a fab resource for anyone dipping their toes into the magical pool of combining modern astrology with witchcraft. My only wish? A bit more of the technical nitty-gritty, like connecting the astrological dots in spellcasting. But hey, all in all, it’s a stellar read, and I’m all here for supporting not just an amazing person but a talented author whose work is a gift to us all.

So, there you have it, my starry-eyed friends. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to add a little extra zing to your astrological journey, this book is your new bestie. Julia Halina Hadas is serving up some serious empowering magick with astrology, and we’re totally here for it! 🌙✨💫

    Good day, beautiful #Witches. 🖤
I used to dream of a magical life… until one day I gazed into the cauldron and saw the face of a Witch capable of making it real.
    That #Witch was me.
And if you're reading this—it's you, too.

    #WitchLife #WitchMadness
A whimsical illustration features two red and white spotted mushrooms (Amanita muscaria) with green leaves growing at their base, set against a textured parchment-style background with faint handwritten script. On the right side, a quote reads: “a note to Self
I used to dream of a magical life until one day I gazed into the cauldron and saw the face of a Witch capable of making it a reality. xx” At the bottom of the artwork is the Instagram handle: @THEHOUSEOFBLACKTHORN. The tone of the image is empowering, mystical, and affirming.

This spread hit like a divine truth bomb: You’re not stuck. You’re bracing. Tired from the fight (9/Wands), unsure of your next step (2/Swords Rx), but crowned with potential (Ace/Wands). The fire’s back—light the match. #tarot #tarotwitch #witchlife #gaytarot #riderwaitesmith
A brightly colored 3x3 tarot card spread is displayed on a dark wooden table. The cards are from a vivid, neon-outlined version of the Rider-Waite-Smith tarot deck, with bold purples, yellows, and reds. The cards are arranged in three rows of three and read as follows (left to right, top to bottom): Top Row: Page of Wands (Reversed): A youthful figure with a wand, depicted upside down, signaling blocked enthusiasm or messages delayed. Seven of Wands (Reversed): A figure defending their position, reversed to suggest overwhelm or giving up. Nine of Wands: A wary figure stands with a bandaged head and a defensive posture, representing resilience and guarded strength. Middle Row: Ten of Pentacles: A rich scene of family legacy and stability, representing abundance and generational wealth. Two of Swords (Reversed): A blindfolded woman holding crossed swords, reversed to indicate indecision breaking or emotional overload. King of Wands: A regal figure seated on a throne, symbolizing leadership, charisma, and vision. Bottom Row: Eight of Swords: A blindfolded and bound woman stands in a ring of swords, representing feeling trapped or mentally restricted. Nine of Cups: A man sits contentedly with nine cups behind him, symbolizing satisfaction and emotional fulfillment. Ace of Wands: A hand emerging from a cloud presents a budding wand, signifying creative spark, potential, and inspiration. Books and tarot boxes frame the top edge of the image, including one titled "Frater Barrabbas," grounding the spread in a ritualistic or magical setting.

Good Day Beautiful Witches!I used to dream of a magical life until one day I gazed into the cauldron and saw the face of a Witch capable of making it a reality.Remember who you are. Allow yourself to dream, recognize the power within you to make happen what it is you can desire. Follow through, take action, be vulnerable, be open, allow yourself to receive. You deserve it. YOU are worthy.Another thing we'd like to express here. I can't say this is a safe space for all because it is not. It's not even a safe space for those who I would like it to be and why? Because this is the internet, this is public, there are people out here who sit and watch and wait till you say something that they disagree with. THEN. They come out of the woodwork. THEN they spit and scream and yell and think they are putting you in your place. Well... Not here. Here we block, we ban, we say good riddance. The lie we have been fed and keep regurgitating and feeding each other from our own nasty mouths is that we can 'Agree to Disagree' on Human Rights. That we can still respect each other and have a difference of opinions on HUMAN... RIGHTS...A Lie. A Lie that people want to hold on to because they don't want to look in the mirror and realize how rotted they truly are.If You Support the Erasure of LGBTQIA+ peoples of BIPOC Peoples, of Marginalized Peoples... this space is not for you, it never was and it never will be.I would hope my @topfans already know this. And if you think I speak too much on this, well I've just only begun. We need to keep standing our ground in order to affirm boundaries and to make sure we know where we stand, who we are, who we ally with and so on. ... See MoreSee Less
